Carbon management

Carbon management is one of the biggest environmental challenges the world faces today. Alliance Boots recognises how important this agenda is, and that is why we are committed to substantially reducing the carbon intensity of our business.

Energy use is by far the largest contributor to our carbon emissions. Our retail stores continue to be the main users of energy. This is why across our Health & Beauty business in the UK, we are continuing to invest in technology that enables us to monitor the energy use of every store every half an hour.

Product delivery carbon dioxide emissions are calculated by adding emissions from our owned fleet vehicles and those of third party contractors, where they are acting solely on our behalf and using their transport just for our operations.
