Alliance Boots reaffirms its commitment to the Chinese market

Alliance Boots announces today that it has signed an agreement to purchase BMP Sunstone Corporation’s 20% interest in Alliance BMP Limited, the Alliance Boots subsidiary that holds a 50% interest in leading Chinese pharmaceutical wholesaler Guangzhou Pharmaceuticals Corporation (“GP Corp”). This transaction follows the January 2008 formation of the GP Corp joint venture between Alliance BMP Limited and Guangzhou Pharmaceuticals Company Limited. David Gao, Chief Executive Officer, BMP Sunstone Corporation, will continue as Chairman of GP Corp.
